DOING is better than TALKING.

Sometimes as a marketing professional it's easy to get caught up in status reports, meeting agendas, and strategy plans. Seth Godin's advice is to make something happen everyday. Stop talking about what you want to do and just do it. This applies to all industries. Make the phone call, write the article, implement the idea, make the deal. This is especially important when it comes to handling marketing accounts for clients. Like Godin said, it's easy to neither succeed or fail during the day, but doing neither leaves you static and unproductive. If something isn't working, make a change and take a risk. Take care of the tactical, but make sure to do something challenging and spread the word.
